Jaroslav Šerých (Czech, 1928–2014) was a printmaker, illustrator and painter. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in 1955 and worked there as a research student until 1960.
Šerých often explored spiritual themes in his graphics and painting. He participated in about 200 group exhibitions, and was the subject of more than 100 solo exhibitions. His illustrated books (more than 70) won numerous awards. In 2008, Jaroslav Šerých was awarded the Czech Republic’s Medal of Merit.
