Description

Tokuriki Tomikichiro / Japanese, 1902 – 1999 (or 2000)

Condition notes:

This print, like many by Tokuriki Tomikichiro, was published as part of a portfolio set. The print itself was made on high quality paper, but it was placed on backing board of lower quality.

Over many decades, the backing board became tanned, and transferred some of that discoloration to the print.

This condition is common to woodblock portfolio sets from past eras. We have removed the print from its damaging environment, and placed it in archival packaging.

While the tanned image is warmer than it was at its creation, especially in the lightest areas, the colors have not faded because they were never exposed to prolonged, damaging light. Your framer can mat this print to look fresh and beautiful.
