Description

Arthur Rubinstein (Polish-american, 1887–1982) received international acclaim for his performances of the music written by a variety of composers and many regard him as the greatest Chopin interpreter of his time. He was described by The New York Times as one of the greatest pianists of the twentieth century. He played in public for eight decades. (Wikipedia)

Eduardo Vernazza (Uruguayan, 1910–1991) recorded his impressions of the world’s great musicians, singers and dancers in brilliant, deft sketches made during live performance. He developed some of sketches from pencil to lithograph with even greater intensity of bravura, calligraphic line. The lithographic sketches offered here were made in the 1930s and early 40s.
