Description

Ferdinand Schmutzer (Vienna, 1870–1928) was a famous etcher and engraver, from a family of such.  He is now celebrated for his photographs as well, since their discovery in a Viennese attic in 2001.

His great-grandfather, Jacob Matthias Schmutzer, was the founding father of the Vienna Academy.

Richard Paulussen (1852-1906) was an Austrian publisher and graphic artist.
